we are always searching for new ways to wear or tie a turban like the ones here and here for those days when you just couldn't be bothered doing/ washing your hair so we couldn't look past this turban/bun style such a fresh take on the turban especially with the added jewellery. now we just need an occasion to try it out!

it appears we're  not the only ones with an unhealthy turban obsession. according to the NY Times turbans are "making a glamourous comeback" with designers such as Jason Wu, Jean Paul Gaultier, Giorgio Armani and Prada parading fashionable head wraps down the catwalk, and the likes of Kate Moss, Solange Knowles, Salma Hayek, Ms Ambrose and Vika Gazinskaya (who we featured in our last turban tuesday post) all spotted in statement turbans. because we love sourcing all things vintage at GI jones we have been searching for a great tutorial so we can turn our vintage silk print scarves into wearable turbans. we think the one offered by the glamourai Kelly Framel is the best and easiest yet.

we are absolutely loving the colours on this fabulous headscarf/turban!! our new mission for the end of Buy Nothing New Month is to scour the op shops for some fantastic vintage printed fabric so we can recreate this look for summer, we will keep you posted on our progress.


also all eBay orders from Saturday night have been sent out today so if you bought something from GI jones it should be on its way to you now :) and all our new stock shall be up by the end of the week.

here are the long awaited pics of G. jones' new turban we think the shade of pink is so lovely and will go perfect with this seasons nude and neutral tones. speaking of turbans just a reminder that we have a fantastic vintage stripe turban (pics below) for sale on our ebay at the moment it ends in three days so be sure to check it out here.

we have turbans on the brain (or head as the case may be) here at GI jones. one of the first items we bought for the store was a fabulous vintage brown and yellow turban (the one featured in the photos of T. jones below) it was even the inspiration for our sugar skull logo. so we have been a little attached to it to say the least. but we have decided it shall go up with the next lot of ebay items. so keep a look out. what do you guys think about turbans? do you like them and would you try the trend yourself?

we are also loving headscarves tied as turbans like this one we featured in our photoshoot. Oh and G. jones has also just purchased a brand new turban so hopefully we shall have some photos of that soon!
