we have turbans on the brain (or head as the case may be) here at GI jones. one of the first items we bought for the store was a fabulous vintage brown and yellow turban (the one featured in the photos of T. jones below) it was even the inspiration for our sugar skull logo. so we have been a little attached to it to say the least. but we have decided it shall go up with the next lot of ebay items. so keep a look out. what do you guys think about turbans? do you like them and would you try the trend yourself?

we are also loving headscarves tied as turbans like this one we featured in our photoshoot. Oh and G. jones has also just purchased a brand new turban so hopefully we shall have some photos of that soon!

its beginning to feel a lot like spring at the moment so we thought we would show you our picks for the new season.

Parker double flared sleeve dress with vintage belt, Linda Farrow sunglasses and nude Balenciaga bag

G. jones has always been a big fan of a great patterned kaftan so her pick is this look by Kim Kardashian perfect for both beach and street and from the look of the spring/summer collections the rest of us agree that this look including the nude accessories is going to be huge! we're also loving that Kim's stylist Monica Rose has worked in a statement vintage belt. you can check out more of Kim here and her stylist Monica Rose here.

G. jones is also sick of boring nails so her pick for a statement nail colour and something a bit fresher than black 'sheer your toys' by OPI

T. jones has gone for a new twist on the military trend shown here on Sienna Miller. the key to the look is classic military tailoring but made in light feminine fabrics to keep you from looking too bulky or masculine. the rest of us at GI jones agree the light weight material means that we'll be able to wear this trend into our hot australian summer.

T. jones is also loving super high wedges especially in nude colours and has picked these affordable ones from Tony Bianco as her favs for spring. you can buy them here

I. jones' pick for spring is lace, lace, lace. its easily dressed up (like these looks by Alex Perry and Collette Dinnigan at David Jones' spring summer 2010/2011 show) or down and we reckon at GI jones its a perfect alternative to last seasons sequin trend.

I jones' favourites are lace paneled sun dresses like these ones by australian fashion label Shakuhachi we are loving the stacked accessories, and the vintage brown leather belt you can pre order the dresses here

also a quick reminder that our first collection is ending in a few short hours you can have a look and bid on some great vintage accessories here. just a reminder of some of the great pieces up for grabs

Splendour in the Grass kicks off the winter music festival season this weekend with a killer line-up. we recommend the best way to stay warm but still look chic is to channel your inner Kate Moss or Alexa Chung, hose off your gumboots, or lace up your chucks/docs team them with faded denim, tailored leather jackets, anything military or khaki and polish off your look with statement vintage (remember they should be hardy but lightweight ) so you stand out from the crowd.we also suggest that you protect your look from sudden downpours or mudslides with a peruvian style poncho.
here are our favourite festival staples from GI jones' up coming collection
